OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES: By participating, you agree that:
1. These Official Contest Rules may not be waived, modified, or supplemented except by Animal Care League. No modification of these official contest rules shall be enforceable unless made by Animal Care League.
2. The raffle drawing shall be held at the Give’em Shelter Fundraiser hosted by Animal Care League and held at Primitive in Chicago, Illinois. All tickets must be received by the drawing date to be eligible for the drawing.
3. Each ticket will be entered separately in the drawing. Each ticket is a separate and equal chance to win the lease on the Mercedes.
4. Winner has 30 days to take delivery on the Mercedes at Mercedes of Westmont dealership in Westmont, Illinois, or forfeits all claims thereto. Winner is responsible for transportation of the car to their location.
5. Due to postal regulations, raffle ticket stubs cannot be returned by mail for purchases over the Internet, through the mail or by telephone. When an order is placed, we will complete the ticket by filling in the name, address, and phone number, and we will drop the ticket in the barrel at the Animal Care League. At the drawing, the winner will be contacted based on the name and information on the ticket. To pick up the vehicle, two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID will be required to prove that this person is the person on the winning ticket. Purchasers do not need their ticket stubs for any reason. However, the stubs will be kept on file at ACL. Purchasers can email tom@animalcareleague.org to check when the order was processed and obtain their ticket number if so desired.
6. Winner notification will be made by telephone and mail.
7. Successive alternate backup winners will be drawn and held by the Animal Care League judges, but not announced in case the first winner does not claim the Mercedes in 30 days or is otherwise ineligible.
8. Participant must be at least 18 years old. Winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility at the discretion of Animal Care League.
9. Winning package includes all taxes and fees. The lease is limited to 12,000 miles of driving per year. If 12,000 miles are exceeded, winner is responsible for to pay $0.25/mile to Mercedes of Westmont.
10. Vehicle will not be modified by the ACL to meet specific local, state or country requirements. Winner agrees to accept the vehicle as built for U.S. licensing and registration requirements. Winner will be responsible for any modifications required for import to a country outside of the U.S.
11. After the end of the year, ACL will file a form W-2G with the IRS to report the value of the prize. The winner will receive a copy of this also.
12. In the event the Mercedes is lost, damaged, destroyed, or otherwise not available, Animal Care League’s liability shall be limited to refund of ticket price to participants. Animal Care League’s liability for any other claim is limited to refund of ticket prices.
13. Winner agrees to the use of his/her name, address, photograph or videotape likeness and statements for publicity purposes by Animal Care League, and agrees to sign a publicity release without any further compensation.
14. Animal Care League reserves the right to cancel this contest at any time, in which event its liability is limited to refund of ticket prices to participants. Any person who engages in conduct designed to corrupt the outcome of a charitable gaming activity with the purpose to defraud, or knowing that he is facilitating a fraud, is guilty of a Class D felony.
15. THIS CONTEST IS SUBJECT TO ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS, AND IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, TAXED, OR OTHERWISE RESTRICTED.
16. All proceeds benefit the Animal Care League a private non-profit 501c3 organization.
17. ACL reserves the right to defer the drawing until 600 tickets have been distributed to qualified entrants. If an extension is required, the drawing will take place no later than 60 days from original raffle date. In the event that a minimum of 600 tickets are not sold, the winner will be awarded an alternate cash prize equal to 50% of the net raffle proceeds with the remaining 50% benefiting ACL charity.
